The trouble some of us go through to get a photo is sometimes funny. The day I found this guy I was out of the house
and in the woods of Lake Catherine State Park before daylight. I went to the waterfall to check the flow first. There was
a herd of deer just down the trail a bit but there wasn't enough light to even think about getting a photo of them.
It was going pretty good but not great. The water runs off these hills quickly. To catch it running full tilt you really need
to be there right after a good rain. I found some more photo subjects on up the same trail. Its amazing what you can find if
you look hard enough.
I was almost back to the trail head when I noticed how people have been using cut through trails to get to the parking
area. Not only is it unattractive but it could keep the animals we come to see from being there. My thought was
"why would someone come to hike but be to lazy to go around on the trail". When I got around on the trail this owl
was sitting in his house ready to pose for photos. Its a shame all those people were missing this guy.
